I work with players of Grade 8 standard and above, whether they are seeking to play the flute professionally, or have it as a serious hobby. We can work at bringing together all of the elements of your playing into a cohesive whole, embodying how we make music, and find efficient ways of tackling problem passages or technical weaknesses.

Conservatoire entry

I have helped students to prepare for their auditions for leading UK conservatoires, as well as given classes at these institutions and examined students’ final exams.

Post-graduate conservatoire entry

I entered conservatoire as a post-graduate myself, having studied an academic course at university prior to this. I know the challenge of preparing for these auditions whilst in your final, most demanding year at university. I can help you work very efficiently to make sure that your playing is favourably comparable with those who have already studied at conservatoires as undergraduates.

Where, how often, and what does it cost?

- Lessons at my home in Folkestone [55 minutes by train from St Pancras]: £70 per hour

- Blüthner Piano Centre, Baker Street, London: £80 per hour

- Online, anywhere: £60 per hour.

Lesson frequency is totally up to you, and depends on your goals. Most people have either weekly or fortnightly lessons, which allows enough time to work on what’s been discussed in lessons, but keeps a good rhythm to your development.
